More about the artwork

Life is too short… to wear boring shoes is a celebration of personal choice as an everyday act of freedom. It speaks to the idea that identity is not built only through grand gestures, but through the small decisions we make daily—what we choose to wear, how we choose to show up, and the pleasure we allow ourselves without justification. Shoes, in this context, become symbols of intention, confidence, and self-expression rather than mere accessories.

In this piece, shoes are not presented as objects of status or excess, but as markers of personality. Each pair carries its own energy, its own attitude, its own story. They represent moods, desires, impulses, and versions of ourselves that coexist at the same time. Choosing them is not about impressing others; it is about recognizing who we are in that moment and honoring it unapologetically.

The woman lying on the floor, surrounded by stacked shoe boxes, is not overwhelmed—she is immersed. Her posture suggests comfort, surrender, and agency rather than exhaustion. She exists in a space where choice is abundant and joy is allowed, where taking pleasure in one’s own taste is not trivialized but embraced as part of a full and conscious life.

This work reflects on how fashion—often dismissed as superficial—can function as a language. Shoes, especially, carry us forward. They accompany us through movement, through risk, through celebration and routine alike. They are worn, marked, and shaped by experience, becoming silent witnesses to the paths we choose and the ground we dare to walk on.

Life is too short… to wear boring shoes is also a reminder that authenticity does not require permission. It asks why we should minimize our desires or neutralize our expression in order to fit into expectations that were never designed for us. Choosing something bold, playful, or unexpected becomes a quiet form of resistance against conformity.

The phrase itself operates as both humor and truth. It suggests that time is precious and that waiting to fully express oneself is often the greatest loss. Wearing “boring shoes” becomes a metaphor for postponing joy, dulling instinct, or choosing safety over pleasure when neither is required.

This piece invites us to walk through life with intention and style—not as performance, but as alignment. It affirms that pleasure, taste, and individuality are not indulgences, but essential elements of a life lived honestly, confidently, and on one’s own terms.

Life is too short to mute who you are or delay what bring you joy. Every step is a choice -make it bold, make it yours .”
