More about the artwork
Champagne please! is a celebration in itself—a reminder that happiness does not need grand achievements, milestones, or carefully orchestrated moments to be valid. Sometimes, opening a bottle and letting the bubbles rise is enough to acknowledge being alive, present, and willing to enjoy what is already there. This work emerges from that impulse: the idea that joy doesn’t need justification, and pleasure doesn’t have to wait.
Champagne carries a symbolism that goes far beyond the glass. It speaks of pauses, of shared moments, of marking time through delight rather than obligation. In this piece, champagne becomes a language—one that suggests celebration as a state of mind rather than a response to external events. It proposes that joy can be practiced, cultivated, and repeated, even in the ordinary rhythm of everyday life.
The phrases Sip, Sip, Hooray printed on the labels reinforce this idea with a playful insistence. They echo the cadence of a toast, lighthearted yet intentional, reminding us that celebration does not require permission or explanation. There is humor in their repetition, but also conviction: happiness does not need to be postponed until something “important” happens.
The presence of three bottles amplifies this collective energy. Each one appears in motion, releasing its own effervescence, suggesting that celebration is not singular or static, but expansive and shared. Together, they form a composition that feels generous, spontaneous, and unapologetic—an invitation rather than a conclusion.
For me, this piece is about reclaiming joy without guilt. About allowing yourself to celebrate even when nothing extraordinary has occurred—especially then. It challenges the idea that pleasure must be earned through productivity, sacrifice, or restraint, and instead proposes joy as an intentional choice woven into daily life.
Visually, the effervescence becomes almost tangible. The glowing outlines, the movement suggested by the bottles, and the fluid background all work together to evoke that brief, exhilarating instant when a cork pops and possibility fills the air. It is not about excess, but about presence—about recognizing when a moment is already worth celebrating.
Champagne please! is an invitation to raise a glass to yourself. To the small victories, the quiet days, the laughter that doesn’t need a reason. It reminds us that celebration does not belong only to milestones—it belongs to anyone willing to notice joy when it appears.
Joy doesn’t need a special occasion to exist. Sometimes, choosing to celebrate is already reason enough. “
